Organization of American Historians, Teaching American History Resource Center
This site offers information for all levels of history educators. The purpose is to provide information regarding training, conferences and collaborative programs.


Our Documents: A National Initiative on American History, Civics, and Service
Our Documents is maintained by the National Archives and Records Administration and is a public-private project with the goal of getting the public to think about the important document in American history. The site has posted what it deems the 100 most important documents in our history including the Northwest Ordinance (1787), the Civil Rights Act (1964), and Thomas Edison's patent application for the light bulb (1880) to name a few. Each document is digitally reproduced and is accompanied by transcripts, a historical summery, and a choice of printable versions.
