Description
Allow students, in groups or individually, to examine the primary source linked under Resources to the right, while answering the questions below in order. The questions are designed to guide students into a deeper analysis of the source and sharpen associated cognitive skills.Level I: 1. After reading the first page, relate in your own words the purpose of the pamphlet. 2. In the section Democracy Now Denied, what happened to a colored person if he wanted to see a movie? Level II: 1. With a partner, summarize the section, "Equal Rights The Basis of the law." 2. Explain the consequences of violating any part of House Bill No. 139. Level III: 1. After reading and discussing the purpose of House Bill No. 130, develop a Student Bill outlining the rights of students in public and private schools.
